A Tribute in Rhyme

A TRIBUTE TO MY FRIEND

His knowledge of music was superb

The spectrum from classics to rap

His golden hands beyond compare

Repairing an engine

Or a spilled mishap

Jack of all trades, master of none

Never finishes whatever’s begun

But an inner drive compels him to wake

This man’s got a plan, make no mistake.

With his fearless feline upon his chest

Purring endless support, “Master you’re the best”

He attacks the keyboard with unleashed zest

And puts thoughts to the site, there’s no time to rest

Healthcare reform – I can do better

Energy reform – put on a sweater

Tax reform – let the rich pay

And cut out the fat, like the TSA

Too many foreigners, put up a wall

Amnesty first, they’re here after all

The lazy in Congress just lining their pockets

And blind judges dismiss criminals

From piled-high dockets.

His mind a-spinning, the words coming faster

No punctuation, the spellings a disaster

Can’t stem the tide, can’t stop the flow

First Trenton, then Washington, and of course, Mexico.

Must save the world, my mission is clear

So he dons the stretch-suit blue underwear

He looks in the mirror and admires the reflection

Yes, they’ll all see I’m right - in the next election

In a monotone mumble attaching the red cape

“Those scumbags in Washington will never escape!”

He points to the “S” sewn on Royal Blue polyester

“They thought I was just the class jester!”

“S” for Stein, Superior and Spry

You see New Jersey – I’m your guy

I’m your everyday Joe, trying to get by

Paying my taxes, though I don’t know why

I’m getting less the more I give

Not asking for much, just want to live

The answer’s so clear, get out of the routine

Must get the Times to see what I mean

It’s what’s fair in this world, not just to me

Real jobs created, a global society

Just hear me out, go to my site

I may be wrong – but I may be right!

(Thank you Billy)

That’s me, a little silly.

Give me your vote, and I’ll set it straight

Citizenship to illegals, then close the gate

Must help our neighbors stimulate

Shake hands cross the borders before it’s too late.

At home reduce what’s not essential

Try new ideas that have potential

Kick out the old guard in favor of new

Learn from the good ones who knew what to do.

Responsible decisions, based on our needs

Reasonable healthcare, we’re planting the seeds

Build up the reserves, secure our borders

Reduce the balances, can the hoarders

So much to do, I’m only one man

Can I do it all? Oh -You Betcha – I can!

But first I have to attend to some chores,

Feed the kitty – and go swab the floors
